Cosy Games for a Bad Day
Not every game needs to test you. Some days you just want something gentle to hold in your hand, and cosy sims are perfect for that. I keep a little rotation of them for exactly those evenings.
Tiny Orchard Days is my current favourite. There's no fail state, no clock ticking, just trees to plant and fruit to gather. I open it, water a few things, rearrange a fence I've rearranged ten times before, and somehow feel a bit better afterward.
The magic of these games is that progress comes without pressure. You're always slightly improving your little world, and that steady, low-stakes sense of 'a bit better than yesterday' is genuinely soothing.
So if you're having one of those weeks, skip the boss fights. Grab something quiet and kind instead. Your brain will thank you.
